VRAC acquires Forplast

VÀLVULES I RACORDS CANOVELLES, S.A.U. (VRAC) acquires FORPLAST, S.A.U. the 1st of May 2008. Both companies are manufactures belong to Cepex Holding, first is mainly dedicated to produce multiport valves for swimming pool and second to produce compression fittings, valve boxes and swimming poool cleaning items.

The merger of the two companies, that belong to the CEPEX Holding, was effective as of May 1st 2008. VRAC has absorbed the more than 40 employés that FORPLAST had in the factory in Les Franqueses del Vallès (Barcelona, Spain) and will continue producing the same products in the VRAC facilities.

The VRAC facilities are located in the CEPEX complex in La Garriga. This new location, with 33.000 sqm in the whole, enables the consolidation, uniformity and profitability of our processes in order to guarantee the improvement of our products and services.

Cepex wins two awards in Smagua 2008

In the present edition of the most important water trade exhibition in Spain, Cepex took part with a 135 m2 stand, located in the hall 4, the neuralgic center of the exhibition. Its modern and functional design and the installation embedded in the floor showing a fluid conduction through all the stand made the company achieve a special mention to the "Miguel Sánchez-Melendo" award for stand decoration and design.

Furthermore, Cepex achieved the 1st Smagua Award for the development and application of technologies in water and irrigation within the valves and pumps category. The aim of these awards is to highlight and give a special protagonism to the products presented as a Technical Novelty in the last three editions of Smagua and that have had a greater or distinguished development and real application on the market. Cepex was awarded for its new range of butterfly valves Industrial Series, especially for the D315 size showed two years ago, in the moment that it appeared to the market.

Generally, the company responsibles have been quite a satisfied with the results obtained in this exhibition, one of the most importants in Spain for Cepex.

Aquaria, the parent company of Cepex, is now called Fluidra

The decision to change the name of the company fits within the framework of the company’s imminent listing on the stock exchange.

Barcelona, 14 September 2007- The Spanish multinational group Aquaria, the parent company of CEPEX, changes its name to Fluidra. Within the framework of the company’s imminent stock exchange listing, this name change fulfils the objective of a better differentiation within the sector, enhancing the visibility of the corporation’s flagship brand.

Fluidra also alludes to the two business units within which it operates (POOL and WATER). “Pipeline projects are being branded with a new name yet without deviating from the company’s strategic objective which is to become a world reference in innovative solutions for sustainable water usage ”, Fluidra’s deputy adviser Eloi Planes assures.

Cepex acquires the company Masterriego

Cepex is still growing, expanding and opening new markets, in this occasion it follows its strategy of grow inside the irrigation market, this time with the buying of the spanish distributor Masterriego.

With 27 employees, Master Riego’s headquarters are located in Madrid and has a branch in Cabrera de Mar (Barcelona). It mainly works with professionals and wholesalers and distributes top world brand items such as irrigation boxes, valves, turbine and impact sprinklers, drip tubes, electronic programmers, electro valves, diffusers and nozzles.

This purchasewill enable Aquaria to move forward with its irrigation business expansion strategy and consolidate itself as a European leader in this sector.

Cepex acquires Irrigaronne for further growth in the French market

As part of its strategy to strengthen the company’s position in the European irrigation market, Cepex Holding, S.A. has acquired Irrigaronne. The contract on the purchase of the company, which is headquartered in Agen (France), was signed on February.

Established in 1979 and employing a workforce of 67 employees, Irrigaronne has become the leading distributor of irrigation systems in France. Irrigaronne markets a wide range of irrigation, fluid handling, pumping and water treatment equipment, serving mainly the French professional and DIY markets. The Company has six sites all over France: Agen (HQ), Toulouse, Aleria, Paris, Bordeaux and Valence.
